Come and join us for an Introduction to Northern Soul.
Durassie will introduce you to the basics including footwork, combine spins, shuffle and acrobatic tricks for the more advanced attendees. No previous experience necessary, open to all. Bring a smile, a sense of fun and a willingness to move. Lets get the party started!
Bring socks to glide and slide, comfortable clothes to move in and plenty of water to drink.

About Durassie Kiangangu
Durassie is a movement-based performer with a direction towards physical devising, voice over and motion capture. He trained in Northern Soul dancing under some of the original “Wigan Casino” dancers who attended the Soul scene during the 1970’s, and was part of an independent film called “Northern Soul” based on the scene, that would later receive a bafta-nomination.
From there he got involved with various fashion campaigns reflecting the genre, incl. “GUCCI”, “New Look” “Saville Row”. In 2018 he choreographed the opening and closing of Ben Shermans catwalk show for London Men’s Fashion Week at Somerset House.
