Sunday 24th September 2023 11-2pm at Sadler’s Wells

This workshop is a journey of exploration and experimentation like no other and open to all professional movers and makers of movement. Sarah Perry, Shapes in Motion founder and co-ordinator will lead and curate the session. We offer you the space, the time and other bodies and minds to share, explore discuss and play with.
Often we invite attendees who are also Troupe members, to pitch their ideas for contribution to the workshop upon application; whether it be to share a solo sequence to gain feedback, to start a creative collaboration with another body, to teach a relevant exercise, movement inspired concept, game, improvisation or try something new to fit within our chosen theme. The result; a collaborative, explorative and dynamic experience for all.
Each workshop begins with a warm up and movement exploration facilitated by Sarah to introduce our core theme and the various mini sessions are seamlessly woven together in a glorious experiment of movement.
Join us and use and share your skills at whatever level you feel most comfortable and joyful as we all learn and grow from each another. The diverse & varied skills of the group are celebrated in this unique format as we move and play in a multitude of ways.
The theme of this next workshop is SPACE and we can’t wait to discover where this will take us.
There will be a photographer in the studio to capture the session and we shall offer each participant at least 2 photos of yourselves in motion for you to use on social, websites, promo … as part of the workshop package. We realise how important, yet tricky, it can be to build up your portfolio of professional behind the scenes shots, so we wanted to help you out with that. A release form will need to be signed prior to the workshop as consent.
